Roll wrapped prepreg carbon fiber tubes are constructed using multiple wraps of twill and/or unidirectional fabrics. Rolled tubes are ideal for applications that require the highest bending stiffness and lowest weight, such as automation robotics, telescoping poles, idler rollers, and UAV components. Additionally, the longer length versions of these tubes have options for high and ultra high modulus carbon fiber, as well as choices for outer fabrics, such as colored Kevlar fabrics. The standard finish is cello-wrapped gloss, but a smooth sanded finish is also available.
Braided carbon fiber tubes are comprised of carbon fiber braid and unidirectional fabrics. They offer excellent torsional characteristics, as well as crush strength, and are ideal for high torque applications. These carbon tubes are available in round, rectangular and square and can be axially optimized or made with higher modulus carbon fibers for increased bending stiffness. The standard for these tubes is our proprietary natural surface finish, showing a wet shiny appearance. Many can also be cello-wrapped for a glossier look, or even peel ply texture finish for improved bonding.
Our large diameter carbon fiber tubes are comprised of rolled bi-directional woven carbon fiber. This tubing is designed for large applications, such as telescope projects or light weight drums. Our carbon fiber large tubes come with a texture finish on both the inside and outside for easy bonding and painting.
Carbon Makers roll wrapped twill carbon fiber square tubes are fabricated from a combination of unidirectional and woven twill prepreg material. The unidirectional layers are oriented to provide high bending stiffness and axial strength. The inner and outer layers provide a bias support in addition to an attractive appearance. This product is ideal for building lightweight frames and structures, tubular vessels, poles, column supports, and any other applications where low weight and high stiffness are essential, yet appearance is also important.

These tubes are comprised of carbon fiber braid and unidirectional fabrics. This product is ideal for building lightweight frames and structures such as trusses. Our carbon fiber tubes have been engineered to be much stronger under torsional and side loading than pultruded tubing. They're also significantly lighter than pultruded tubing. Our carbon fiber large tubes have been designed so that the unidirectional layers are captured, eliminating longitudinal cracking and splitting. The finish on this product is different from our other product lines. These tubes show the texture of the carbon fiber braid with a wet and shiny appearance. Pultruded in an epoxy resin, Carbon Makers, Carbon Fiber pultruded tubes are exceptionally straight and rigid and are an ideal building material for frames, trusses and for use as reinforcing material. Because tubes are fundamental building blocks, they find great utility in the building of engineering and high performance structures, and work well in concert with DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate. Carbon Makers, Carbon Fiber Tubes are easy to work. They can be cut with a band saw, coping saw, scroll saw, end mill, or dremel tool. Because Carbon Makers, Carbon Fiber Tubes are pultruded in an epoxy matrix they will bond readily with ScotchWeld 2216 epoxy resin.
Symmetrical airfoils have the same curvature on their top and bottom surfaces, providing an aerodynamic shape with lower drag than an oval tube. Tear drop in shape, this symmetrical airfoil contributes no lift at zero angle of attack, but will generate lift at a positive angle of attack.
Comprised of carbon fiber braid, our symmetrical streamlined airfoil tube is ideal as a strut or faired structural component for any UAV, model airplane, or any other application that may benefit from a streamlined strut. This tube is comprised of all braid with a gloss finish.
