Carbon fiber veneer is all about the appearance of the carbon fiber. In a 3k weave, each strand consists of 3000 individual fibers. The fine appearance of these fibers is what gives carbon fiber its unique look. To produce a really beautiful veneer, you need to clearly show the fibers and the texture of the carbon. CarbonMakers veneer is the highest quality, most beautiful veneer on the market.
Cheaper veneers are manufactured with simpler processes that do not produce this deep clear layer, so the carbon fiber appears flattened or crushed, the fine carbon fiber texture is not as well defined, and the surface is not as reflective. Traditional vacuum bagging processes and autoclaving prepreg simply cannot produce this finish.

A composite plate (panel) is a plate made out of composite materials (a resin and a reinforcing fiber). The mechanical properties are more detailed than a normal isotropic plate because it has different material properties in different directions. Composite panels are light weight, strong and offer very high stiffness. Most of the products we offer are available same day.

Roll wrapped prepreg carbon fiber tubes are constructed using multiple wraps of twill and/or unidirectional fabrics. Rolled tubes are ideal for applications that require the highest bending stiffness and lowest weight, such as automation robotics, telescoping poles, idler rollers, and UAV components. Additionally, the longer length versions of these tubes have options for high and ultra high modulus carbon fiber, as well as choices for outer fabrics, such as colored Kevlar fabrics. The standard finish is cello-wrapped gloss, but a smooth sanded finish is also available.
Braided carbon fiber tubes are comprised of carbon fiber braid and unidirectional fabrics. They offer excellent torsional characteristics, as well as crush strength, and are ideal for high torque applications. These carbon tubes are available in round, rectangular and square and can be axially optimized or made with higher modulus carbon fibers for increased bending stiffness. The standard for these tubes is our proprietary natural surface finish, showing a wet shiny appearance. Many can also be cello-wrapped for a glossier look, or even peel ply texture finish for improved bonding.
Our large diameter carbon fiber tubes are comprised of rolled bi-directional woven carbon fiber. This tubing is designed for large applications, such as telescope projects or light weight drums. Our carbon fiber large tubes come with a texture finish on both the inside and outside for easy bonding and painting.
Carbon Makers fiber veneers are well suited for covering large surfaces or for decorative trim. Decals may simulate the look of carbon fiber from a distance, but up close there is little comparison to the DragonPlate finish. These sheets are available in our standard gloss or scratch resistant matte finish on one side, with a textured finish on the other...
Our quasi-isotropic solid carbon fiber sheets are a tough and rigid carbon reinforced epoxy matrix composed of multiple layers of woven carbon fiber fabric without any core material.
